1. Who we are
BibExchange is a service operated by Runoot, Italy (“Runoot”, “we”). You can contact us at support@runoot.com.
By sending a race request or an entry offer, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the service.
2. What BibExchange does
BibExchange is a free contact service for runners. Runners tell us which races they would like to run. People who can no longer run tell us about their entry. When we see a possible match, we put the people involved in touch with each other.
Some opportunities are race packages (entry + hotel) offered by tour operators or travel agencies we work with. In that case, we put you in touch with that provider.
No account is needed. Requests and offers are private: they are not published as public listings.
3. What Runoot is not
- Runoot does not sell or buy race entries and is not a party to any agreement between the people we put in touch.
- Runoot does not collect, hold or transfer payments. Any payment is made directly between the parties.
- Runoot is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any race organizer.
- Runoot does not organize or sell the packages of partner providers.
The price, the payment and the handover of an entry are agreed directly between the seller and the buyer.
4. The service is free
Runoot does not charge sellers or buyers any fee or commission for using BibExchange. The price of an entry is set by the seller, and the price of a package by the partner provider.
5. If you offer an entry
When you send us an offer, you confirm that:
- the entry is yours or you are entitled to offer it;
- the information you give us is accurate and complete;
- your asking price is not higher than what you paid for the entry (and, for a package, the hotel booking), plus any official transfer fee;
- you will check the race organizer’s rules on transfers, name changes and deadlines, and follow them;
- you will tell us if the entry is no longer available.
Please don’t send us identity documents, booking codes or login details.
6. If you are looking for an entry
When you receive an opportunity, it is up to you to:
- check the race organizer’s rules on transfers, name changes and deadlines, and follow them;
- check the offer and the seller before paying anything;
- meet the conditions to take part in the race, such as age limits, medical certificates or insurance required by the organizer.
You take part in any race under your own responsibility.
7. The race organizer’s rules
Every entry is governed by the rules of the race organizer. Some races allow an official transfer or name change, some charge a fee for it, and some don’t allow transfers at all.
Runoot does not check whether a specific transfer is allowed. The seller and the buyer are solely responsible for complying with the organizer’s rules. Any consequences of not following them, such as a cancelled entry, refused access to the start, disqualification or loss of insurance cover, are borne by the seller and the buyer.
8. No guarantee
A race request does not reserve an entry and does not put you on an official waiting list. We cannot guarantee that a matching opportunity will become available, that an exchange will be completed, or that the people we put you in touch with will behave as agreed.
We do not verify the identity of users or the accuracy of the information they give us.
9. Payments and staying safe
Payments are made directly between the parties, outside BibExchange. To protect yourself:
- prefer traceable payment methods that offer buyer protection;
- be careful with requests for urgent payment or unusual methods;
- keep a written record of what you agreed.
Runoot will never ask you to pay Runoot for an entry. If someone asks you to pay us, please tell us at support@runoot.com.
10. Packages from partner providers
If you book a package from a tour operator or travel agency we put you in touch with, your contract is with that provider, and their own terms and conditions apply. Before booking, check who the provider is, what the package includes, and their conditions for payment and cancellation.
11. Using BibExchange fairly
You must not use BibExchange to:
- give false information or offer entries you don’t have;
- offer an entry or a package as a private individual for more than you paid for it;
- commit fraud or mislead other people;
- send spam or submit requests on behalf of others without their permission;
- collect data from the service with automated tools.
We may decline, ignore or delete any request or offer, and stop putting someone in touch with others, if we reasonably believe these terms have not been followed.
12. Liability
BibExchange is provided free of charge and “as is”. As far as the law allows, Runoot is not liable for exchanges between users, for the conduct of users or partner providers, or for the consequences of not following an organizer’s rules.
Nothing in these terms limits Runoot’s liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Your personal data
How we use your data is explained in our privacy policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. The version in force when you sent a request or offer applies to that request or offer, unless you accept a newer version.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence.
